Just a brief note of thanks to the club for their support of Aoife up to and during the u14 girls All-Ireland Final on Saturday last. As you can imagine, losing by a single point in the Final (Dublin 3-11 Galway 4-9) was very difficult to deal with but all the Dublin girls were heartened by the sight of a number 42 double-decker Dublin Bus parked right in the middle of the Roscommon countryside, courtesy of O’Dwyers, Balbriggan! So strange was this sight that it even got a mention on the official Dublin Ladies GAA Website!
Thanks also to all the members of the Executive Committee and Liam Howley for his great support and to the Managers, Mentors and the Players from the girls u13, u14 & u15 teams who travelled to Kiltoom and for all the cards, posters and good-luck messages.
It should be noted that O’Dwyers had more supporters at the final than any other Dublin club.
Special thanks to U14 manager Damien Prout for his support along the way in places like sun-baked Clane and rain-soaked Ashbourne!
Apparently Ladies Football is now the fastest growing sport in the country, so hopefully there will be more to come from the O’Dwyers girls.
Is mise le meas, Antoinette, Chris & Aoife Curran
